Henk Peeters was born 8 December 1925 in The Hague, The Netherlands. He studied Fine Art at the Koninklijke Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten 's-Gravenhage. From 1957 untill 1972 Peeters taught at the Art Academy in Arnhem, The Netherlands, where he met other Dutch artists, such as Kees van Bohemen, Jan Henderikse, Armando and Jan Schoonhoven. Together with these artists, in 1958, Peeters forms the Hollandse Informele Groep (Dutch Informal Group). The group ceases to exist in 1960, when Peeters, Hendrikse, and Armando start the NUL movement. After five years also this group dissolves, when - on a Monday morning in 1965 - Henk Peeters sends all his artworks with the garbage man. Since 1958, Henk Peeters exhibits his work, mainly in group exhibitions, both nationally as well as internationally. Henk Peeters lives with his wife, the photographer Truus Nienhuis, in Hall, The Netherlands.
